Mission Statement
The mission of the Veterans Service Office is to support Veterans, their dependents and survivors by providing advocacy and professional services to assist Veterans in pursuing all obtainable benefits. We will be there to guide them through the complexities of the application process with the intent to maximize benefits.
Vision
Improving the quality of life for Calumet County Veterans and their dependents through accessing all available local, state and federal benefits that were earned by the sacrifice and service to their country.
Office Staff
Michelle Wynveen, County Veterans Service Officer
Michelle is a Veteran of 11 years active duty completing her service as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. She served from 2004 to 2015 as an Administrative Chief, a Systems Analyst, a Combat Marksmanship Instructor, and a Formal Schools Instructor.
She was stationed aboard Marine Corps Base, Iwakuni, Japan; Camp Pendleton, California; Quantico, Virginia; and completed her time as a Formal Schools Instructor with the Personnel Administration School aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Johnson, North Carolina.
She holds a bachelor's level Paralegal Certificate, a Master’s of Art in Criminal Justice Studies, a Master’s of Science in Psychology, a Master’s in Public Administration, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Leadership, Innovation, and Continuous Improvement through Concordia University, Wisconsin.
Michelle worked as the Sensitive Crimes Project Manager with the Milwaukee Police Department and as a Paralegal in a law firm, before being hired by the Calumet County Veterans Service Office in February 2020. Michelle is accredited with the NACVSO, WDVA, DAV, VFW, and the American Legion.
Kevin Sentieri, Administrative Assistant to the Calumet County VSO
Kevin retired from the Army in 2025 after 21 years of service which culminated as a Company First Sergeant. He served in various assignments as an Engineer, Cavalry Scout, and Recruiter in Uijeongbu, South Korea; Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; Hohenfels, Germany; Ft. Carson, CO; Joint-Base Lewis McChord, WA; Miliani, HI; and Appleton, WI. He also completed a deployment to Iraq in 2005, and Afghanistan in 2010.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies from the University of Maryland and is currently pursuing a Senior Personnel Human Resources Certification.
